The Daraga Business Convention (DBC2018) was a huge success with more than 80 businessmen taking part of the pioneering event at The Oriental Hotel Legazpi last January 27, 2018. Even with the bad weather last Saturday, majority of the confirmed attendees were able to make it to the venue. This is a testament of the intention of the delegates to come and learn what they can from the convention. The huge turnout and the readiness of the delegates to listen exceeded the expectations of the organizer, the PILO Movement.

Setting the tone of DBC2018

Atty. Teofilo De Lumen, one of the key figures behind The PILO Movement started off the program with his keynote talk on Technology and its role in progress. It was an eye-opening session about the importance of Information Technology and how it is facilitating change in business in most, if not all key industries all over the world today. Atty. De Lumen’s keynote speech set the predicate for the convention’s IT-centered theme.

The second speaker of the convention, Bernie John Baltasar, delivered a rousing talk about technology and automation and how these elements build up the business of the future – lightning fast in every aspect of its operation. It was also during this time that the CEO of BD BPO formally announced the free website that will be offered to all delegates of DBC2018, which was met with a round of applause from the crowd.

Impressive technology wows delegates

The tech presentations went without a hitch. Lyn Padernilla talked about Xero accounting software and also shared about JuanTax and how this exciting system will revolutionize tax preparation in the Philippines. The delegates positively affirmed the need for these software in their business with many of them expressing willingness to try it out.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of SweldoMo, a new cloud-based, TRAIN-ready software designed to address the issues faced by business owners in payroll preparation. Designed with the Filipino entrepreneur in mind, the presentation by Mr. Baltasar and BD BPO’s software specialist Ronnie Anzano was an impressive run-through of the said software, spurring a lot of inquiries from the delegates during the Q and A.

Setting a standard for business conventions

The Daraga Business Convention sets a new standard for similar event not just in Daraga but also in Legazpi. DBC2018 had a dedicated website with online registration functionality. This made confirming to the RSVP easy. The event also gave away Apple products in its raffle draw, adding prestige to the event.

But what made the event really stand out is the knowledge transfer that was planned from the very beginning. Businessmen were given an elevated understanding of Information Technology and how it can revolutionize the way they do business. The lessons learned by Daraga entrepreneurs in the 5-hour event will serve them and their businesses for many years to come.

Equipped with the free website given to them by The PILO Movement through BD Software Solutions, local businesses can accelerate their growth.
